poland_map CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT: Conference titled “Theory and practice in adapted physical activity”, will be held on September 16th, 2009 at the Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw. We would like to invite you to participate in 1st International Conference in Poland on „Theory and practice in adapted physical activity”, which will take part on September 16th, 2009 at the Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw.

Patrons of the conference are the Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw, Polish Scientific Association of Adapted Physical Activity (PTN-AAF), European Thematic Network on APA (THENAPA II) and Chair of Theory and Methodology of Teaching Movement at the University of Physical Education in Warsaw. The conference will mark the celebration of 80th anniversary of Central Institute of Physical Education (later transformed into University of Physical Education in Warsaw) and 25th anniversary of our Faculty of Rehabilitation. Our conference will be accompanied by seminar on "Ageing and Disability - a New Crossing Between Physical Activity, Social Inclusion and Life-Long Well-Being" with practical session presenting sensomotor exercises for the elderly. The aim of the conference and seminar is to present research and expertise related to adapted physical activity.

Following are the conference topics:

  • psychosocial and educational aspects of adapted physical activity
  • training and methods in Paralympic Sport
  • programming and organizing physical activity for the elderly
  • inclusion and integration in physical education
  • education and life long learning of coaches and instructors working with individuals with special needs.
